How to Send an Artwork as a Gift to Family or Friends

Everything you need to know about sending a Sofia Minson artwork directly to a family member or friend as a gift, including packaging, delivery, and gift certificates.

Giving a piece of New Zealand art as a gift is one of the most thoughtful things you can do for someone you love. Whether you are sending a limited edition print to a family member overseas, surprising your in-laws with a canvas for their new home, or gifting a collector's book set for a birthday, we have made the process as simple and seamless as possible.

Can I Send an Artwork Directly to the Gift Recipient?

Yes, absolutely. When you place your order, simply enter your own details as the billing address and enter your family member or friend's details as the delivery address. These can be completely different, so the artwork goes straight to them without passing through you first.

This works for all domestic New Zealand orders, Australian orders, and international shipping worldwide.

How to do it at checkout

1. Add your chosen artwork to the cart and proceed to checkout
2. Enter your own name and email address for billing
3. Under delivery details, enter the recipient's full name and delivery address
4. Complete your payment as normal

The artwork will be sent directly to your gift recipient. Your billing details and order confirmation come to you, not to them, so the surprise stays intact.

Will the Price or Invoice Be Included in the Package?

No. We never include pricing information or invoices inside the parcel. Your order confirmation and receipt are sent to your email address only. 
 

What Does the Packaging Look Like?

Every artwork is packaged with the same care we would give our own. We use specialist materials designed to protect archival paper and canvas prints during transit, whether they are travelling across town or across the world.

Archival and canvas limited edition prints

Prints are carefully rolled and placed in a protective tube, wrapped with acid-free tissue, and sealed to prevent any damage in transit. They arrive in excellent condition and ready to be taken to a framer.

Collector's book sets

Book and print sets are packaged together carefully, with the giclée print and the book secured to prevent movement in transit within a cardboard box and soft outer sleeve.

How Long Does Delivery Take?

Delivery timeframes depend on your location and the type of artwork ordered.

Please allow additional time during peak gifting periods such as Christmas, Mother's Day, and Father's Day. We recommend ordering at least two to three weeks before the occasion to be safe.

If you need an artwork by a specific date, please contact us before ordering and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What If I Need a Gift in a Hurry?

If time is short, our Artwork Gift Certificate is the perfect solution. Certificates are delivered via email within 24 to 48 hours and can be sent directly to your recipient or to you to forward on. They are redeemable against any print, canvas, or collector's set in the collection.

Can I Send an Artwork as a Gift Internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide. Simply enter the recipient's international address in the delivery details at checkout. International orders are tracked and fully insured in transit.

Please be aware that customs duties and import taxes may apply depending on the destination country. These are the responsibility of the recipient.
